Eligibility requirements to open HSA account
- Covered by a qualified high-deductible health plan
- Not covered by other health plan which do not qualify as a high-deductible health plan
- Not enrolled in Medicare
- Not receiving, or have not received, veterans medical benefits in the previous three months
- Not claimed as a dependent on someone else’s tax return
